The alert comes after a warning by the IB about attacks on seven possible terror targets in Maharashtra

Mumbai faces yet another security threat via sea. The city has been put on high alert despite rough weather conditions and flood-like situation. The alert comes after a warning by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on seven possible terror targets in Maharashtra in one of the most serious threats the financial hub has received in the past two years. (Please Read Our Post Dt. June 22, 2009)

Despite the rough sea conditions, Pakistan-based extremists could carry out more 26/ 11 style attacks. Home Minister P Chidambaram reportedly confirmed the threat to Mumbai. The Navy and coast guard have been put on high alert.

The possible targets are key railway stations, shopping malls, luxury hotels and a reputed bank in Mumbai. Sources confirmed to Hardnews that photographs of these locations have been sent to security agencies after they were found from a terror suspect nabbed in J&K.

However, no reports have confirmed the number of terrorists that could enter India via sea and neither have they confirmed whether there is a possible local involvement or the possible timing of the attack. The threat is second of its kind in a month after a similar threat was issued on June 24.

The latest possible terror attacks on Mumbai come at a time when the entire city is battling a flood-like situation because of continuous rains. The Mithi river has crossed the danger mark.

Meanwhile, a top UN official monitoring the UN Security Council sanctions against various terrorist groups said that the LeT might target India again as it is trying to increase the tension between India and Pakistan. LeT was declared a terrorist organisation after it coordinated the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.

Computerworld - NASA disclosed today that an investigation earlier this week that found multiple dings in the space shuttle Atlantis' heat shield must be restarted because about 40 tiles were missed.

The crew of the Atlantis had spent nine hours inspecting the heat shields on Tuesday. Using the shuttle's robotic arm, astronauts collected data and images of critical areas of the shuttle's thermal protection system, especially on the craft's nose and the edges of its wings. Part of a routine checkup after any shuttle launch, the inspection took up most of the crew's first full day in space.

A few hours after the inspection began, NASA announced that dings or scratches were found in some of the shuttle's outer tiles.

Scratches were found on the forward part of the shuttle's right wing, close to where it connects to the fuselage, according to NASA spokeswoman Katherine Trinidad. The damage, found on four different heat shield tiles, looks minor, but NASA will continue to investigate it.

The damage seems to be related to a debris impact that occurred about 104 seconds after the Atlantis lifted off Monday afternoon.

After today's spacewalk wrapped up late this afternoon, NASA announced that they have discovered that an area of the shuttle's heat shield had not been inspected at all. The area is below the forward thrusters on the vehicle's port nose.

With Hyderabad being one of the main targets of terror elements, the city police have swung into action and are beefing up security. TOKYO, March 29 (Reuters) - North Korea is preparing to launch a close- to mid-range ballistic missile separately from the long-range missile that Pyongyang has said it will launch next month, the Sankei Japanese daily reported on Sunday.

The secluded state may fire the close- to mid-range missile shortly after the long-range missile is launched, the paper said, quoting unnamed Japanese government sources.

The report come as Pyongyang is poised launch a communications satellite between April 4-8 that regional powers believe will actually be a test of a long-range missile, the Taepodong-2, which is already believed to be on its launch pad.

North Korea has given international agencies notice that the rocket's planned trajectory should take it over Japan, dropping booster stages to its east and west. Any attempt to shoot the rocket itself down would be an act of war, it has said.

Washington, March 26 (IANS) A major 26/11 type terror attack is 'inevitable' in India as it braces for general elections in April-May even though the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament has been moved to South Africa for security fears, warns a leading US strategic think tank.

Stratfor, which calls itself 'the world leader in global intelligence', said: 'Despite the decisions, the Islamist militant threat to India remains.'

The Indian security apparatus is already bracing for another major attack, Stratfor said.

It said it had 'received indications early on from Indian security sources that the IPL tournament was a prime target for another large-scale Islamist militant operation following the November 2008 Mumbai attacks.'

Shifting the IPL tournament to South Africa gives the Indians more forces to secure the country for the national elections, but this does not necessarily mean that the threat level during this time period has subsided.

March 22, 2009 (Computerworld) Astronauts aboard the space shuttle Discovery and the International Space Station this afternoon maneuvered the connected crafts to avoid a piece of space debris that is hurtling toward them.

The maneuver should keep the connected vehicles safely away from the space junk, which NASA officials believed was on track to cross the orbiter's path while astronauts were making their scheduled spacewalk on Monday. NASA feared that the debris could have forced it to postpone the spacewalk.

This is the third time in little more than a week that space junk has come close enough to the space station to pose a potential risk to the crew and the orbiter. The space station crew was on alert early last week before a 4-inch piece of a defunct Russian satellite ultimately flew harmlessly by on Tuesday morning. And then late the week before, the two U.S. astronauts and one Russian cosmonaut abourd the station were forced to seek shelter in the attached Soyuz TMA-13 Capsule when a piece of an old rocket motor came too close for comfort.

The space shuttle Discovery, which is on a 14-day mission, docked with the space station last Tuesday.

Today, at 4:31 p.m. EDT, the astronauts completed the latest maneuver, which is designed to slow the two attached crafts enough to avoid the latest approaching debris, which NASA describes as a 4-inch piece of a Chinese satellite. NASA reported that ground control had the crew maneuver the two so that Discovery is in front of the space station as they travel through space. "Discovery and the station will stay in this orientation long enough for the natural drag to slow the stack by about a foot per second, estimated to take three hours," said NASA in an online report.

NASA also noted that without doing this maneuver, the piece of space junk would have crossed the shuttle-station orbit repeatedly for several days. The first time it approached the orbiter would have been about two hours into Monday's scheduled spacewalk.

Earlier today, the NASA crew aboard the space shuttle Discovery got some downtime to prepare for their third space walk tomorrow.

The object in question was given the name 25090 PAM-D and was thought to be part of a spent upper stage booster rocket. The threat was considered to be small, then increased to medium. However, an error in tracking models was discovered and the object was actually too close for the ISS position to be changed in time; the object made its closest approach at 12:39pm. Fortunately for all concerned, it missed, and the crew returned to the station just after 12:45pm. It is not known how close the object got to the ISS, but because of the object's speed, a collision could have been catastrophic. All objects in low Earth orbit travel at around five miles per second; something less than a half inch wide moving that fast will have the same impact as a 400-lb object moving at 60 mph....gives me the shivers thinking about I.

We are more concern about Mumbai Part 2 as Hotels are again targeted at mass level along with monuments and palces of Historic Importance. We had identified about 30 installations which terrorist could target in their future mission. But don't worry we had informed the agencies concern, Indian as well as International ones as they are more reliable.

NASA program managers ordered the change-out after a gaseous hydrogen flow control valve failed to work properly during the launch last November of shuttle Endeavor.

Similar to pop-up lawn sprinklers, the poppet valves are critical to keeping pressure within the external tank's liquid hydrogen reservoir at proper levels as the shuttle is thundering toward orbit and propellant in the tank is fed into the orbiter's three main engines.

Passengers on board the Indian Airlines Lucknow-Delhi flight IC-812 had a hair-raising experience as the aircraft was asked to go around at the last moment while landing at the Delhi airport on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place at 6.45 pm, when another aircraft was spotted on the same runway as the Indian Airlines flight was about to touch down.

Salboni, November 2 : West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Union ministers Ramvilas Paswan and Jitin Prasada escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday afternoon after suspected Maoists triggered a landmine explosion on a village road in Salboni, West Midnapore, almost immediately after their vehicles had passed.

Six policemen were injured, two of them critically, after the explosion rattled an electricity pole and caused a high-tension wire to snap and fall on the last vehicle in the convoy.

Security personnel of PM's convoy injured

Guwahati (PTI): Five security personnel, escorting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, were injured when their escort vehicle met with an accident near the Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

The Maruti Gypsy escort vehicle rolled off a small bridge at Bhangagarh near the hospital injuring the five, official sources said.

The injured were admitted to the GMCH where the condition of four was stated to be out of danger while the fifth person's condition was stated to be serious.

The Prime Minister and the UPA chairperson were on their way to the GMCH to visit the injured in Thursday's serial blast which claimed 77 lives.

Pakistan earthquake kills at least 150

ISLAMABAD: A powerful earthquake jolted parts of southwestern Pakistan early Wednesday, leaving at least 150 people dead and hundreds more injured, officials said. The death toll was expected to rise.

The 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Quetta, the provincial capital of Baluchistan, and several districts of the province between 4:30 a.m. and 5:10 a.m Wednesday, causing widespread destruction, the state-run news agency reported.

Capt Manjit Singh Khokhar and Capt Dalip Kataria, both experienced pilots, were killed as the plane suddenly lost height and caught fire soon after ploughing into a thick growth of trees on the premises of an abandoned factory at Jugiana village, barely 4 km short of the airport where the plane was to land.

A "small" fuel spill mishap when the Polar rocket with the Chandrayaan-I spacecraft atop was being fuelled created a near "scare" during the final countdown for the launch of India's maiden unmanned moon mission, ISRO Chief Madhavan Nair said.

This was revealed by Nair who earlier in the day spoke of how space scientists at the Sriharikota spaceport faced an "ordeal" after rains pounded the area and surrounding parts for nearly five days.

"Yesterday, we had a small mishap during filling operation when some of the fuel spilled over from one of the courses of the ground system and this created almost a scare," Nair said.

The ISRO chief also said launch personnel had to clear the "pad" and then carry out repairs before proceeding with the blast-off preparations.

"We had to take a tough decision as to how much of fuel had to be loaded, how much as to be unloaded and number of operations to be carried out simultaneously which we have never done earlier," he said.

"We lost 10 hours in the countdown yesterday due to inclement weather and almost lost the hope of making the launch. But working against all odds ISRO team has won the game," Nair said. North-East monsoon usually peaks over the eastern coast around this time of the year.

"It was an ordeal and never before we had such horrible weather just ahead of the launch date," he added.

I am continuously warn again and again about the threat to this mission, finally it comes true.

The upcoming Indian mission to the moon "Chandrayaan - I" is not going to be a successful mission as per my indications, I had detected possible error in its First stage, approx. after 70 seconds of ignition the problem may arise. I.S.R.O. is ired to be cautious and check the First Stage Engine / Software / Components again.

I conclude from the inputs received today about various blasts in Kashmir Valley specially in the City of Srinagar, also the election dates are announced so we can witness large amount of violence during elections.

A blast occurred outside Chief Minister's residence in Manipur, I also got the instruction today itself so it was not put on this blog, no one hurt in this incident.

Threat to V.V.I.Ps, Infra Red alert...

I am writing frankly that there is a clear threat on the life of one of the top leaders/politicians of India. At least 3 inputs are with me from which I conclude,

1. A major terrorist attack (of the level of Parliament attack) within a next 20-30 days, the location is probably the VIP area of New Delhi. Some powerful groups then IM may struck the National Capital soon. New Delhi Railway station is also a possible target. Dt. 02-10-2008

Our other inputs come true...

1. Oct. 04, 2008 : Terror Possibilities in Guwahati , 2 live bombs found in Guwahati on Oct. 14, 2008 (TOI)

2. Oct. 03,2008 : Terror alert for VVIPs , threat to Hon. President during her Pune Visit and Hon. P.M. Dr. Manmohan Singh faces mass protest / threats during his last J & K visit.

I was having input that these are 3 youths and training of 1 suicide bomber is almost complete and this one is of Kashmiri origin. I again warn agencies that the indications are not good, so be vigilant.

These are the results which I got from various experiments on this space mission,

Mission: Chandrayaan - I Launch Dt. : 22/10/2008 Status : Failed (15/10/2008)

Sucess Rate (As on 15/10/2008) : 35 % (Approx) Altitude Achieved : 110 Kms.

Possible Error : Malfunction of Computer Hw / Sw / Program Code

The most ambitious mission of India the "Chandraayan-I" seems to face trouble while its maiden launch on Oct. 22, 2008. I worked to locate the possible error in this mission. As I predicted correctly the failure of G.S.L.V. - F 02, 3 days in advance, I wanted to know this mission's success rate. The data which I got from various experiments I conduct when combine with inputs I received even earlier are worrisome , this mission seems to be a failure again.

It may fail even to reach Elliptical Parking Orbit (E.P.O.) and debris may fell near 0-5 Deg North , 60 Deg East. I suggest I.S.R.O. Scientists to work hard in locating errors in the system at the earliest for make it a successful mission. The error could be detected to check systems / codes running at the altitude of 110 Kms or around (may be in stage II will be active at that time hence the systems of stage II should be checked for possible errors).

I hope the hard work of hundreds of Scientist would not go waste hence I request them to recheck the complete mission before launch. Threats to V.V.I.P.s comes true in last days...

A day earlier, two youths were killed and more than 30 were injured in clashes between anti-India protesters and Indian security forces. Separatists called for a strike against the prime minister's two-day visit to the state.

Fearing more trouble with the prime minister in town, authorities instituted heightened security restrictions in parts of the city overnight.

Its relief for Security Forces & Administration as the function was successfully accomplished as some concerns were shown related to security with this particular function. This train service could be the favorable target of protesters in next few days.

My latest analysis indicates that there is a probability of at least 2 bomb blasts in the city of Ahmedabad, its most favorable place to be attacked by terrorist outfits to gain more publicity. Gujarat Govt. and Intelligence agencies needs to take highest precautions at least till Oct. 09,2008.

Also to support Times Now initiative to locate the missing Bell 430 Chopper of Ran Air with 4 crew members on board, today I had got location approx. 22.53 KM SW of Bailadila (CG), I assume that wreckage may located at a river bed as location shows a river passing by.
